Welcome to the website of Hale Light Orchestra. We are a group of amateur orchestral musicians, based in the village of Hale, which is situated to the south of Altrincham, on the Manchester/Cheshire border.

The orchestra specializes in performing works from the light music repertoire, and particularly those from the 1930s –1950s era. We rehearse on a weekly basis, during school term-time, and give 4-5 public concerts each year. Our favorite works are exemplified by the music of Eric Coates, Frederic Curzon, Robert Farnon, Haydn Wood, Ernest Tomlinson, Trevor Duncan, and Leroy Anderson.

Our operational base is at Altrincham United Reformed Church.
